- How your honeymoon can continue to create a passionate and intimate relationship!
Swan Mountains view at a wedding venue near Kalispell, Montana "Two passports one love story" is a sentiment felt by many couples who travel together. To share your life with someone else who loves to see beyond their world can be one of the most intimate ways to live. Here at The River House Wedding Venue, riverhousemontana.com we know we live in one of the most beautiful places in the world but we also know our appreciation increases as we see what other treasures exist in the world! To travel takes one beyond their scope of history and knowledge to the great unknown. It's a true reflection of life itself, embracing change and actually desiring it. With these great adventures brings a delve into different cultures, food, religions and self-awareness. In daily life we all engage in routines which is necessary and stabilizing however without any changes it can often become mundane and repetitive. According to The Self-Expansion Theory it claims that we are all driven to grow and that transfers over to our relationships through new hobbies, perspectives and of course travel. (Aron and colleagues, 2022). Research has shown when couples are involved in activities that are expansive it brings with it many positive outcomes for their relationship including higher satisfaction with each other and passion. (Aron and colleagues, 2021) Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, France By all accounts the right travel can definitely be expansive and bonding but we all do know travel can work two ways, either break it or make it. I would highly recommend traveling together prior to a marriage. Travel shows each other a very true picture of how we react to unpredictability and sometimes stress. So assuming you've already gotten some trips under your belt prior to you honeymoon let's look at how do you find an ultimate adventure celebrating your life together! -Try something new, finding a new place for both of you will increase the chances of self-expansion. Facing novelty together will usually increase feelings of anticipation and excitement, these emotions will then often integrate right into your relationship. -Find new places that appeal to both of you. Research has shown that how much money you spend has nothing to do with the degree of satisfaction from a trip. -To narrow down your choices, do have a budget of what you want to spend then examine what activities you both want. There is almost always compromise for that's what happens when you bring two people together. -After you know the money you want to spend and the type of activities you both want then each of you should write down 3 options on a piece of paper. Bring your ideas to each other and first see if there's anything similar and start from there. A bridge in Bhutan -If finding one place isn't conclusive pick two and start research. It maybe one person is more the planner, whoever it is should love the process. I personally often narrow down my choices by where I want to stay, a cool airbnb, hotel or resort. -Find the place that gets you both excited. Once you've found it then the fun really begins! Because wedding planning is already stressful try to plan the honeymoon as a break from all the other stress. Many couples do delay the honeymoon for practical reasons. If you decide to put off the honeymoon than by coming to The River House for your wedding you'll still have much to anticipate and be excited about. So just as your honeymoon should fit into The Self Expansion Theory so could your wedding venue. At our outdoor Montana wedding venue we have beautiful scenery, a vast wilderness to explore and the peaceful banks of the Swan River to chill by. - Why it might be better NOT to get married at Glacier National Park and instead find a beautiful Northwest Montana outdoor wedding venue!
Outdoor Northwest Montana wedding venue with Swan River and Swan Mountains. Why getting married in Glacier National Park could be overwhelming while a ceremony at a wedding venue in NW Montana could offer all you desire. Here at the River House, riverhousemontana.com we have beautiful Northwest Montana scenery combined with the intimacy of a good friend. Glacier has become a very popular ceremony choice for couples yet many many don't realize the complexities and compromises you have to make. Here are some of the logistics in marrying at Glacier National Park. 1. Attainability and accessibility can sometimes be a challenge. Glacier National Park can be difficult to access, especially during the heightened tourist times such as summer! Getting all your guests to Glacier and ensuring that everyone can enjoy the celebration without stress is one more thing to worry about. Crowds, traffic, regulations, weather and lack of privacy are a few reasons why a private outdoor wedding venue in Northwest Montana is a more desirable option for many couples. 2. Weather can be unpredictable. The weather in Glacier can vary quickly, with sudden changes that might influence your day. Because of elevation and varied microclimates, combined with the influence of the Pacific and Arctic air masses, can create rapid temperature changes, increased precipitation, and diverse weather conditions across the park. Choosing a wedding venue in Northwest Montana may offer more reliable weather conditions for your special day plus you can have a backup such as a tent in case it decides to pour or snow. 3. Crowd Control Glacier National Park is a popular destination, which means it is crowded, especially during the summer months. Count on traffic jams, cars can be backed up for quite a distance. There is a car permit procedure in place which adds to more confusion. There are also construction operations in the park you need to be aware of at any time. A more secluded outdoor venue in Northwest Montana could provide a more intimate setting for your family and guests. 4. Venue Amenities Many wedding venues in Northwest Montana offer amenities such as catering services, restrooms, and accommodations for guests, which may not be readily available in a national park setting. Finding readily accessible restrooms in the park often can have long lines. Places to eat or relax in Glacier will be crowded with a lot of people you don't know. 5. Scenic Variety While Glacier National Park is stunning, Northwest Montana has a multiple beautiful outdoor wedding venues that offer mountainous landscapes, lakes and forests allowing for gorgeous and personalized wedding photos. 6. Flexibility and Customization Montana wedding venues often allow you to individualize your celebration with lighting, outdoor furniture and of course music! Certain park sites limit the number of guests to 10 at your wedding where venues can often accommodate up to 150 people or more. 7. Environmental Considerations Having a wedding in Glacier national Park comes with strict regulations to protect the environment. Here is a breakdown of the parks ceremony guidelines. Here is the site at Glacier National Park for official information, https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/weddings.htm#:~:text=This%20is%20regardless%20of%20the,further%20before%20submitting%20an%20application . Special Use Permit : Required for any vow exchange or ceremony, regardless of group size or officiant. Can be applied for online, but it's recommended to consult with a photographer and park staff on location and timing before submitting, as location rules can tighten. Permits are issued for two hours, covering the time needed for setup, the ceremony, and vacating the location. The application fee is $125, and permits must be submitted at least 20 business days before the ceremony date. Montana Marriage License : You'll need to obtain a marriage license from the Flathead County Courthouse in Kalispell. The courthouse is located at 920 South Main, Kalispell, MT 59901, open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. You'll need your birth certificates or driver's licenses, and the fee is $53. You can fill out the application online in advance. Other Important Considerations: Most desirable locations have a limit of 10 guests and only two ceremonies per day. Be sure to specify the exact times and location names on your permit application, and list all equipment you'll be bringing. No confetti, glitter, or tossing petals are allowed. You may need to pay for park entrance fees separately, as the permit does not cover them. To make sure you're equipped to enjoy your wedding and time in Northwestern Montana we have compiled a list of what to bring. Swan River & Swan Mountains at outdoor wedding venue near Missoula & Kalispell, Montana Let's start with the wedding itself. Of course, start with all the wedding attire you want. Think of everything you're wearing on your wedding day and write it down. Having a bag specifically for your wedding day will help with organization. If you're flying, consider either shipping the items or having a carry-on to reduce any mishaps. Examine all the accessories that go into your day such as jewelry, makeup and hair decor. If your having someone help with your hair and makeup check to see with them what you should bring. Many venues have hair dryers and makeup mirrors for your use. At the River House we offer boutique, high end toiletries to help your day be even more special. As most wedding venues there are dressing areas for the bride and groom. At The River House the bride and bridal party have the access to the entire main cabin which includes 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, living room and kitchen. Bride & bridesmaids at Montana wedding venue near Kalispell. Have a list compiled of all the celebrations that will go into your wedding. If you're staying somewhere like The River House you get the opportunity to turn your wedding into a 3 day celebration. Make sure you have clothes planned for the rehearsal dinner, your wedding night and the day after. Shoes, don't forget the shoes that accompany each event. Getting married at an outdoor wedding venue in Montana can take some extra consideration. Often the ground is uneven, rocky and dusty, for you could be in the mountains and forest. That doesn't mean you have to wear hiking boots for your wedding but maybe not stilettos either. Find a shoe that can handle different terrain, be somewhat comfortable and of course ones that make you feel happy. Giving yourself enough time to evaluate options would be advisable. It's wise to have another pair of shoes for the reception, ones that help you float through the many conversations, standing and dancing into the night. Dancing at outdoor wedding venue near Missoula, Montana Now let's review specific items for a wedding in Montana. First is clothing and weather. In Condon, Montana we do have a wide variety of weather any time of the year. A week before your wedding the forecasts can clue you into your wedding scenario. As it's not guaranteed, make sure you have something to keep you warm at night. Depending on your dress and wedding theme you have many choices. Anything from a down or fleece jacket to a shawl or poncho! Just know even if the days are hot once the sun goes down the mountain air can get cool. We've already gone over shoes for the wedding but for recreation you'll need something different. When you marry in Montana hopefully you have time to have a hike to realign your nervous system with nature. Walking on trails requires at least a walking or hiking shoe, depending on distance and terrain. Here at The River House we have beautiful and many easy trails just up the road. The paths are often cleared and some are an easy walk towards the Mission Mountains. It's also good to bring water shoes for all the rivers and lakes we have in the area. The Swan River at The River House has great fishing holes and swimming holes. Hike by outdoor wedding venue and Mission Mountains in Condon, Montana Getting married in Western Montana also means you are immersed in nature. The River House is located in Swan Valley which is one of the most complete ecosystems in the lower 48. Being in Montana means you are sharing the outdoors with wildlife. The wildlife includes deer, elk, mountain lions, black bears and grizzly bears. It's an honor to recreate in such a beautiful and wild area but it comes with awareness and respect. No one should walk on trails or even in any forest or river area without bear spray. You can't bring bear spray onto a plane or across a border but many stores sell them. When you go grocery shopping put a few bear sprays onto your list. Here at The River House we have guidelines for how to use the spray. Because we are on the Swan River and Glacier Creek we take extra precaution when walking there. When in groups the noise will often deter an encounter. The other thing to mention is to make noise when walking alone and if camping do not take any food or drinks into a tent! Being aware of your natural surroundings so you can enjoy all that nature has to offer. Some people enjoy using hiking sticks so having a few for family and friends is a good idea. Be sure to grab your bathing suit so you go into our 12 person hot tub or go swimming in lakes or rivers. Add to the list bug spray, water bottle and sun protection and you're good to go adventuring in Western Montana 12 person hot tub at outdoor wedding venue near Missoula, Montana The unique outdoor opportunities Montana has to offer is just one good reason to get married here. Being knowledgeable about the area your venue is in will help you pack the right items. Starting to think of what to bring early will allow for more relaxation time previous to the wedding. Of course if you forget something there are stores! In Condon, Montana we have The General Mercantile Store which is a smaller grocery store but with many gourmet options and a deli that is 4 miles from The River House. There's also an eclectic store, Swan Valley Canter which is .5 miles from us. We are unique that we live in the midst of some of the wilder country in Montana with creature comforts. Having a breathtaking backdrop while listening to music stirs your soul which gives you a perfect setting for an enchanting wedding. Music can take us to a deeper place then just spoken words. Music lights up the entire brain and gives us a sense of connection by invoking deep emotions. It helps people to express themselves particularly when the heart is involved, it bridges the gap of communication with others. Music can help guests and family to understand the depth of your love for each other. Guitar at outdoor wedding venue near Missoula, Montana ©"Wild Child" Photography The music can come from your shared experiences and emotional context with each other. If there's a song that represents you both falling in love or an inspirational song of what you mean to each other, it can be worked into your ceremony. Not only does it carry significance to the two of you but it also can offer guests another glimpse into your unique love story. Having music play during quieter times of the wedding ceremony offers your guests a soothing and relaxing time. Weddings can be so busy and rushed, music can slow it down to help everyone be more mindful of the experience. The songs played will imprint on everyone reminding them of your wedding for years to come. Live music if chosen can become a more interactive experience through movement, clapping or singing. If you hire professional musicians it will have a elevated event of the blending of a beautiful space and sound. Music during the ceremony also can cover unexpected sounds so a more serene environment can be had. Live music at outdoor wedding ceremony near Kalispell, Montana ©"Wild Child" Photography Some of the favorite wedding songs for 2025 are the following. "Perfect," by Ed Sheeran "Can't Help Falling in Love," by Elvis "Joy of My Life," by Chris Stapleton "Growing Old With You" by Restless Road "Lover," by Taylor Swift "At Last," by Etta James "Better Together" by Luke Combs "I Get to Love You," by Ruelle "All of Me," by John Legend "Beyond," by Leon Bridges "Planning a wedding is all about creating moments that feel uniquely yours. One of the most powerful ways to make your ceremony unforgettable is through live music. As a wedding musician, I love collaborating with couples to craft the perfect soundtrack for their ceremony and cocktail reception. Whether it’s performing the song that played on your first date or arranging a fresh take on a tune that holds special meaning, I make it my purpose to bring your vision to life. There is the option of having a DJ simply play a recording of the song, but live music has a uniqueness that cannot be replicated; the performance exists for that one time only. I’ve had the privilege of performing for over 80 weddings, which also means I know how to adapt when the unexpected happens and still deliver a seamless performance. And throughout it all, I stay focused on what matters most—that this day is about you and the love you’re celebrating. What’s great about working with a solo guitarist like me is the flexibility it brings. If there are last-minute changes, I’m quick to adjust and when it comes to logistics, my guitar and I are highly portable which can be useful or even essential at some remote outdoor venues. If you’re looking to add that extra layer of magic to your wedding, I’d love to help create a soundtrack that’s as meaningful and unforgettable as the love you’re celebrating. " Garrett Pelland Here is Garrett's website: Maryland Wedding & Event Musician Here at The River House we love, love. - How to include your fur baby into your Missoula, Montana wedding.
When you visualize your wedding celebration you automatically think of the people you care the most about and then of course your best friend, no not your partner, your dog! For many of us our dog(s) have been with us for all of our big events so of course they should be by you when you say "I do!" Here at The River House, riverhousemontana.com , we love dogs, our dogs, your dogs, just dogs! But we know it's important to keep them safe and keep your stress down so we have some ideas on how to do all of that. Dog at a wedding venue near Missoula, Montana First, you obviously want the joy but do you want the responsibility of bringing your dog to your wedding? Think about how your dog reacts in situations with many different people and emotions. If your pal is easily overwhelmed it might not be fair to them. You don't want to calm down your mother and your dog! The other consideration is their level of energy. If in your dog's mind, happiness is jumping and barking excessively, it might not be a good fit. Picture your wedding guests and your dog and see what you conjure up. Seriously if your dog will add to your level of happiness by being there and they will enjoy it, then do it! So your next consideration is finding a dog friendly venue. Not all wedding venues welcome dogs so finding one that meets your needs and your dog's can be tricky. Here at The River House we are a dog haven but obviously they can't roam freely. So when you are doing your things, we have a fenced in area off the main house. It's a convenient place for them to lie under trees and listen to the creek. At many wedding venues, such as The River House, we have a lot of land for you to accompany your dog so you all get to relax, enjoy the river, forests and mountains before your big day. Dogs in the Swan River at outdoor wedding venue near Kalispell, Montana Let's say you've decided bringing your fur baby to your wedding celebration is what you want and you've found the perfect venue that welcomes your best friend, now what? Preparation for all aspects of your wedding will help the day go better and that includes your dog. Write down all the dog paraphernalia you need; bed, leash, dishes, toys, food, meds and of course cookies. If it's written down, then when it gets hectic, you don't have to think or forget. Now comes the fun part, how do you want your dog to participate in your wedding? The most obvious is in your ceremony. If you want them in the ceremony then find a person who can control your dog and who your dog likes. By having that person in your wedding party they can walk your dog down the aisle. Often an older child can be that person. How do you want your dog to contribute to the festivities? If your adorning them, make sure your dog is comfortable. You don't want your dog to be uncomfortable and nervous walking down the aisle. Just as everyone in the wedding party should be comfortable in their clothing your dog should also. Often a crown of flowers could go around their collar or perhaps a sparkly leash. Make sure the person guiding the dog has treats for sitting down and being quiet during the ceremony. Don't forget to water them or take them in the river if it's hot after the ceremony. Newfie in Glacier Creek at wedding venue near Missoula, Montana You probably want your dog in some pictures, so maybe the river's not a good idea quite yet. Keeping you dog clean especially around the wedding dress is important. Find a few opportune shots for the 3 of you, be happy for all of your favorite beings are there. Now it's time to have fun so have a preselected person take your dog into the air conditioned house to take a nap. It's been an exciting day and your pup needs their rest and you need not to worry about them. Having some calming music in the house can help your dog, you and the bridal party, as they come in to freshen up. Do make it one person's responsibility to feed your pup at the time you dictate, otherwise well meaning people might all feed him/her to your dog's glee! Again have everyone keep an eye on the water bowl. In all the excitement it can be easy to forget little details. Asking several people to occasionally let your pup out into the fenced yard from the house will insure your dogs' safety and comfort. Don't let any dogs roam freely, it's a crazy time with too many cars and excitement. Keeping your anxiety down is the ultimate goal. Bride and her dog at a outdoor wedding venue near Missoula, MT Knowing your pup is safe, fed and watered you can relax and dance the night away. Having fun at your wedding is what it's all about. Go to the following for more information on our wedding package for The River House, https://www.riverhousemontana.com/wedding-packages , The day after the wedding can involve lying around, fishing, spending time with people you didn't get to see on the busy wedding day. Dogs on trails by outdoor wedding venue in Condon, Montana Most Montana wedding venues have wildlife in the area so keeping your dog under supervision is necessary. While the forests and waterways are great fun, dogs should always be controlled. At The River House we welcome the wedding couples dog(s) but request those are the only dogs that are there. For safety and liability the River House does not allow the guests or other family members to bring their pets. We also ask that dogs are not allowed to chase wildlife. Weddings are a time for love, fun and celebration so having your dog with you can add to the experience. By being mindful of how your dog is around others and a lot of stimuli you can decide if it's a good option to have them at your wedding. If not bringing them is best, find an option that makes you comfortable. Try not to use a new boarding situation for you or them since you don't want to worry about them. Use a place or person that everyone has some prior experience and sense of peace about. Minimizing stress and maximizing joy is what every wedding wants. Sometimes the groom has not been thinking of planning their wedding for as long as the bride has, so encouraging him to explore his preferences may be necessary. Some basic guidelines in getting people to talk starts with open ended questions. For example, "Where would you prefer to have our wedding?" If that is an overwhelming question you can start with where they don't want it, by giving him choices, "Would you rather have our wedding in a hotel or outside by the river?" It's important that you let him speak. Ask the question then remain quiet until there's some answer. For those of you that have expressive partners this will be easier. It's one thing to ask but then to actually listen is what's important. After you have some feedback from him then offer reflective listening, "It sounds like you'd like.....". As with everything in a relationship it's all about compromise. Compromise at it's best, outdoor wedding venue by Missoula, Montana ©"Wild Child" Photography After finding out his preferences from location, type of venue, food, music and drinks to name a few have that all written down. Circle the ones where you agree then look at the ones where you two might differ. If there's some that you can let him decide let him have those and mark the ones you don't want to negotiate on. The rest should be examined and compromised on. When discussing this try to make it a relaxed and fun situation such as over a drink, tea or dinner, you get the idea. Here's one more consideration people do better in communicating and decisions when they aren't hungry or tired. - How to plan a Montana wedding at the venue of your dreams.
Planning your wedding can be an exciting and creative experience especially at The River House outside of Kalispell, Montana! To begin your adventure of finding the right wedding venue, have an idea of what you're looking for. Sometimes it's fun and helpful to find ideas on Pinterest or create a vision board. Then evaluate what you've saved and write down the trends you notice about what you're attracted to. Because there's so many wedding venues a list of important traits will help guide your search. Sun shining over Swan River at outdoor wedding venue by Kalispell, Montana Start by looking at venues that fit you and your vision for your dream wedding. Looking at websites and social media can begin your tour of venues from the comfort of your home. At The River House we have an informative website that includes prices, riverhousemontana.com . At The River House we feel it's important for everyone to see our prices upfront so you can have realistic information for your budget. Other media sites can offer more pictures and information. When you have found the top three venues you're interested in it's time to schedule a tour. Before going to the tours have a rough budget and an idea of how many people you want to invite. The price of your wedding will be directly correlated to the amount of people you invite. Everything from tables, chairs, food and drinks will be guided by the number of guests. Outdoor wedding reception in Swan Mountains ©"Wild Child Photography" Remember to think of any items you'll need to rent for the venue if it's not inclusive. At The River House we offer a range of wedding plans to fit anyone's budget. Our prices are lower than many for we let you decide if you want to rent tents, tables and chairs. When these are built into the prices often the base cost is higher which is often a disadvantage especially if your guest list is smaller. We don't feel it's fair for the price of a wedding for 150 guests to be the same as 50 guests. When we rent our items they are significantly less than rental shops. More choices equates to a better fit for your budget. The River House also leaves room for unpredictable weather. We keep our outdoor wedding tents up so they are sturdy and beautifully decorated. Consequently you don't have to pay for them until after you've used them, allowing for last minute decisions based on the weather. Working with you to keep costs down is a priority for us. We also have many items that are free when booking with The River House like the dance floor. We offer a 400 sq.ft wood or carpet dance floor with all wedding packages. Choosing a date prior to touring is a good idea but remain flexible. Considering what season you want for your wedding will dictate many of your wedding choices. If they have your specific date and you want that venue don't wait to long in booking otherwise you could lose it. There are certain times of the year where wedding venues could be booking several weddings a day. In picking a date for an outdoor wedding venue it's important to think of what the scenery will look like and of course the average temperatures. Here at The River House we try to be ready for all weather, for in Montana things can change quickly. We have outdoor patio heaters and fans! Fall time at a outdoor wedding venue in the Swan Mountains When deciding your venue make a list of what's important to you. For instance we offer overnight accomodations for up to 22 people which is nice for the wedding couple and some friends or family. The ability to go into your restored airstream or cabin offers convenience, privacy and ambience which beats driving to a place off-location. For other guests we have plenty of vacation rentals in the area and resorts in Seeley Lake, Montana. There is also the possibility of hiring a party bus for your guests from Seeley Lake or Bigfork, Montana. Bedroom at The River House by Missoula, Montana When visiting a wedding venue take a checklist of what's important to you and keep track at each venue. Do ask questions at the tour and any time during the process. At The River House we also encourage our couples to review our contract even before they take a tour so they are informed and can discuss it. Finding your vendors again will be based on desire and budget. The River House is located in the middle of Missoula and Kalispell, Montana so there are many vendors to choose from for food, photography, DJ's and flowers to name a few. In any decision making too many options can make us feel overwhelmed. Sometimes first starting with what you don't want can help you decide what you do want! Planning the ceremony is a good place to start after the venue is chosen. Knowing if you want an indoor or church ceremony verses a outdoor site. Here at The River House we actually have a small cabin that could easily be used as a mountain chapel or various ceremony sites outdoors. Because of our beautiful location there are many options on where to say "I Do." Also consider your seating arrangements, we offer strong white folding chairs. Think about any decorations you might want. At The River House we have arches made from our own trees along with wooden side tables for the aisles. We also have Turkish carpets that can be used for the aisle. So first just relax, close your eyes and see what you want! I want you to see it, hear it, smell it, feel the emotion you want and finally taste it. Tasting could be the food, flowers or aspects of the natural world. Using all your senses activates your brain, helps you to relax and gives you more clarity. What type of energy do you want, formal, relaxed, a party or more intimate? After your visualization write it all down and go over it with your partner and clarify it as you go. Things to think about is the food, seating, entertainment, decor and timeline for speeches and activities. Of course there's a lot to think about but ultimately you're marrying your best friend and that's always the most important part. Placing enjoyment and mindfulness over perfection and anxiousness will help you in the creation process. Bringing together the people that matter in a place that makes you feel good will be the most important aspects of the process. - Celebrating Love in the Swan Mountains, Montana
By Donna Langston Jan. 29, 2025 Getting married in the Swan Mountains in Western, Montana is a beautiful and romantic place to celebrate your love. Here at The River House Wedding & Event Venue we've been attracting couples who are called to the majestic mountain peaks, lush green forests and to the abundance of lakes and wild waters. It is here that our couples feel most at home and connected to each other and to the astonishing beauty that Swan Valley has to offer. To understand what I'm talking about please visit our website, riverhousemontana.com Beautiful Montana skies at outdoor wedding venue Condon, Montana is in the Swan Valley which sits between the Bob Marshall and Mission wilderness. This valley has long attracted couples to have their wedding ceremony and celebration there. The reasons why Condon, Montana is a perfect wedding site are many. First Condon sits between Missoula and Kalispell, Montana, so it's convenient to both towns and their airports. The distance away from the cities takes you away from the urban areas into your own national park. The mountain vistas and forests take one into a personal fairytale. The valley offers amazing views along with the privacy to bring your family and friends into your celebrations which often include a long weekend. Outdoor wedding ceremony area near Missoula, Montana The benefits of being in forests and around rivers are well documented. Studies show that being in trees reduces cortisol which is a stress hormone, helping people to feel more relaxed which then increases dopamine and endorphin levels creating more happiness in people. So even though getting married has a lot of joy there can often be stress. Having your ceremony outside in the forest will help everyone relax and feel more happiness. Not only will the couple feel better but your guests will also thank you! When you are around a river you again have less cortisol and you have an increase of serotonin which is a happy chemical in our brain. An increase of oxytocin also occurs when around a river and that is a neurotransmitter that helps us bond to other people and have a sense of peace. The Blue Mind ,or Blue Water Effect , is the notion that being by water can improve physical and mental well being. It's characterized by a state of peace, calm, and unity. So when a wedding venue such as The River House is nestled between two mountain ranges and sits on the banks of The Swan River and Glacier Creek you have a recipe for a wedding that has less stress, more joy, enhanced connection to others and an overall increase in a sense of well being!
