When planning for you're hike there are things to keep in mind.

First know what you're getting yourself into. The wilderness is beautiful but can be deadly if you're not prepared. Check the weather and make sure you're prepared for anything. Wearing layers with a waterproof jacket is essential also check in on trail conditions.

You must have bear spray! There are grizzly and black bears, mountain lions and moose that can attack when surprised. In fact any hiking in most of Montana requires bear spray. When you hike make noise, talking, singing or play some music. Surprising wildlife is what you don't want. Do take water, bug spray and comfortable hiking shoes. Of course take your camera, you will see beautiful sights and landscapes.
